Friday 20th February: More on Victoria. Our first bet yesterday, a Premium, was a bet on a wet track but NOT on a good track. It lost. Immediately after the race the track was upgraded to good. Their track condition policy costs punters money. On other dyas tracks remain wet for the whole day. Surely we're better just to let nature take it's course. That's what happens in winter isn't it?

Many years ago I sat in on Stewards meetings at Newcastle. One day the track was given out as slow. After the first the Stewards brough in a couple of jockeys who rode in that race and asked for their opinion of the track. They both said it was good. The cheif steward said: "Well we'll upgrade the track to Dead for the next race then upgrade it to Good for the next, otherwise we'll look stupid for giving out the Slow Rating first up."

The Autumn Edition of the Magazine has arrived and the Newsletter wil be posted early next week. The Magazine is in Newsagents the week after (Friday 27th February, 2009).

Thursday 19th February: There’s no doubt about it, they’re ruining Victorian Racing with the consistent use of overwatering of tracks. We should be racing on good 3 tracks at least right through the Summer, instead we are never sure what condition the track is in. Horses that are sound have no problems handling a good track. Some tracks are disastrous once it is wet and Mornington is one of them. We give up.

Wednesday 18th February: Yesterday we managed to get the Trifecta with our selected Daily Feature Race horses. Also to our delight the Winform Top Rated horses at Mount Barker in the first three races were all successes. Today Hawkesbury is a abandoned, but we have more Selections, hopefully will come some more winners.

We are expecting the Autumn Edition of Horse Racing Australia Magazine to be posted out to Subscribers on Monday morning next week. For those of you that aren't subscribed or need to renew, simply visit the Winform Bookshop or Phone the Office direct on: (02) 4950 1747.

Tuesday 17th February:
Several NSW based members of the Australian Thoroughbred Breeders Club have kindly offered agistment for bushfire affected horses. A fair way to go but they have grass and rain both of which we are so drastically short of. Contact: Dianne on: (02) 4577 6120.

Meanwhile there are many horses in the Kinglake district who can't be moved due to a shortage of floats. If you can spare a float to loan for a little while it would be much appreciated! Contact Steven on: 0438 644 234

On behalf of the Winform Team, I would like to apologise for the technical issues accessing the updates on this Diary. Yesterday was a quite day with very few Winform Selections and today again with Cessnock abandoned, still not a lot of action.

More importantly in yesterday's broadcast we mentioned that anyone who subscribes to Horse Racing Australia Magazine this week, all individual sales will be donated direct to the Victorian Bushfires and Queensland Flood Appeals. Simply click here to subscribe to today for as little as $49 for 12 months, just in time for our massive Autumn 2009 Edition, or just phone the office on: (02) 4950 1747.

Monday 16th February:
Our Daily Feature Race selection won easily yesterday at $3.90 and three of our four Premium Selections were winners. Powerplay Singles had plenty of winners yesterday but missed out on a profit with the best winner being just over $5.

There was a minor glitch on the website which stopped some Members being able to see the Diary, but all is okay now.

Starting next weekend we are adding the Horse Racing Australia Selections to the Powerplay Singles group. Why? We simply ran the Horse Racing Australia Selections back for the past four years and found that it increased the overall profit by about $10,000 a year. Using the Powerbet strategy (that we sent all Powerplay Subscribers), we easily overcome the situation where there is more than one selection in some races. It doesn't happen often but it can make a difference.

Last year showed a profit of over $24,000 using just $10 base bets. The initial fee of $2995 for a Powerplay Subscription is easily covered.

We have a Staff Punters Club and we are pleased to report that it is well in profit. Susannah knew what she was doing when she took a First Four on our Daily Feature race Saturday. It paid around $600 for the $24 outlay. We were right in our assessment of Weekend Hussler and it was great to see Apache Cat return to his best as we predicted.

Sunday 15th February: I've decided that all proceeds from the sale of Magazine Subscriptions this week will be donated to the Bushfire and North Queensland Flood appeals. To subscribe just click on the Bookshop on the left.

Grandslam had a great day yesterday and Winform Singles made up for last week's bad day. The Powerplay Singles Powerbet strategy was successful. A very good day. As some may know I spent my day at the hospital yesterday as my wife Ros had a turn. All is well. At worst she got to lay down for a few hours while necessary tests were done.

Saturday 14th February: The girls forgot to mention our Members who backed the $66 winner at Ipswich on Thursday. It was Top Rated and the second rated horse ran 2nd for a great Quinella.

Our Members gave Canbet.com.au a caning, nevertheless they have continued with their special offer forwarded to all our Members yesterday.

The Powerplay Singles had just three selections Friday for two wins and a second and all three were also 'Key to Winning Consistently Two' qualifiers under our Premium and Best Bet Rules. Saturday promises to be interesting with a lot of Group One winning horses resuming. In NSW and Queensland the weather will play a big part.

Friday 13th February: Not an overly successful racing day yesterday but today should be better. We are busily putting the final touches to the Autumn edition of Horse Racing Australia Magazine. We look forward to it's release end of March early April. We are also trying to determine whether or not our Powerplay seminar will go ahead. If you are interested in attending please send through an expression of interest email to wrc@hunterlink.net.au.

Another wet day here in Newcastle with rain expected until Monday. But we aren't complaining. If only the rain could get to Victoria. If you wish to donate to the Victorian Bush Fire Apeal click here

Wednesday 11th February: We dropped just under $1,000 on the Powerplay Singles, but previous profits for the month have reduced that loss to just $462. Our strike rate is in line with the expected strike rate but the average dividend is just $4, about one dollar less than average.

John called yesterday. He advised that he is not using the Singles as he is making more than enough money with the original multibetting strategies quitting when in front for the day. It does mean that all three strategies will continue to be supplied with users choosing for themselves which strategy they prefer. As long as users are making money we are happy.

In Newcastle we have had a night of storms and a month's worth of rain. Most of the Powerbet books should be in users hands by now. Feedback is welcome. If it takes two or three readings (as one Member told me yesterday) to get your head around the method it is worth it. Anyone who has any concerns about the strategy is welcome to call me Thursday as I will be in the office until 4.30 p.m..

Tuesday 10th February: Here is a recent email from one of our Victorian Members:

I would like to thank you for your well wishes in regard to the fires in our areas.I am in Yarra Glen area and it has been very difficult with 49 degrees on Saturday and a strong Northly wind which then took out Kinglake. Along one of the roads 1 km from my house - within a 7 km strip there are 11 people that have died. Most known and a lot of friends.  This is very hard to believe, We cannot find out to much as the area is a crime scene. At this present time my son-in-law is fighting to save his house for the second time in Chum Creek Road in Healesville.I am with Rotary and we are very busy sorting food, clothes and accommodation for people - It is marvellous how the marjority of people are pulling together.
Love to you all - Barbara

There was an error in our recent broadcast about the Best Bets. We said I think two out of two instead of three out of four. No believe it or not, for the second year in a row a losing day at Hobart. I had two legs of an allup in on second favourite Straadivaar and it missed the kick by four lengths. It wins I get $4,000, it places I collect $2400 it loses, well...nothing. I knew the result seconds after the jump.

It looks like we may have a Seminar in Brisbane on March 8th. I'll confirm in the next Newsletter but keep the date handy.

There were just two Premium, bets that qualified under the rules of 'Key To Winning Consistently Edition Two' yesterday. They both won and saved my day with the all up.

Monday 9th February: The very first C Plan race yesterday was a winner. Then there were four from eight. Just as easy to quit after the first one and save a lot of time. Besides, my Foxtel wasn't working yesterday.

Today is Hobart Cup Day. Last year on this day I lost $4,000. It won't happen today and I did get it back just in case you are wondering.

I am thinking of putting on a Powerplay Seminar, possibly in Brisbane but maybe also in Sydney. I would probably need at least 30-40 expressions of interest to make it worthwhile planning ahead. It would be one day only, probably a Sunday afternoon, probably $99 to cover costs. In your email to wrc@hunterlink.net.au please make the Title subject "Powerplay Seminar".

Sunday 8th February: Yesterday was a winning day. I don't have time for anything further as today is very busy. Powerplay selections will go up at 11 with the first race today at 11.30 roughly we will be busy. Good luck to our many Members who are in the fire stricken area of Victoria. Racing is at the bottom of the list and your fellow Members will join me in hoping and praying that you are safe.

It's a long time since I've seen a day like this. One race to go and the Powerplay singles have just had 11 selections for two winners and every other runner 2nd including one at $10.50 the place. Imagine the allups we could have had? Delyara in the 8th at Caulfield paid $5.90 the place. Where's that bloody Chinaman? I must have killed him in my sleep because I don't remember.

For the Daily Feature race I chose Maldivian as a ceratainty for the place. He paid $2.90 and he won too but I can't claim that.

Saturday 7th February: We added the Grandslam horses for Caulfield tomorrow to today's Grandslam sheet and tomorrows ratings will have them as well. The day has started well with an $11.70 Powerplay single winner. I noticed David Toulson's Punters Club which was clean out of luck for so long, has finally hit it's straps with a fantastic footy strike rate of late. It's all intended to be fun but it is nice to win too. DT is a long way behind David Bendeich's Club which I expect will be firing up again soon if not already.

The girls at work have just started their own Punters Club and already are $900 up after starting on thursday. Of course there are still $560 worth of bets to go but they would have to have a real wipeout to cruel that. They are on Balazing Shiraz at Cheltenham but as we are not supposed to be on anything at greater than $21 fixed odds we don't have high hopes.

We've noticed that Over The Odds is now paying best average tote price. This is not a bad deal.

Friday 6th February: We started out well yesterday with Powerbet reaching $293 on a base bet of $10 for the month to date using the Powerplay Singles. The new book: 'A Powerbet Guide' is being posted to Powerbet owners today and we are sure you will be happy with it. It is a different approach but for those who make use of it, a worthwhile one.

The book has been produced at a cost to us of over $5,000 and a hell of a lot of time and input. We are making the book available to people who do not have Powerbet Software for $50. Purchasers who then purchase Powerbet will get their $50 back off the cost of the program.

This weekend the Rosehill races have been set back to start at 2.30 and the Caulfield races may be postponed until Sunday. Moves such as this to beat the heat are unprecedented. The horses will still be in their stalls in the heat regardless.

Thursday 5th February: We had some good success yesterday for the new Winform Single Selections winning two from three Selections. Both Selections at Ascot paying $6.10 and $4.10. Our Success Express Selections also won at Eagle Farm paying $2.70 and our Best Bet didn't quite get the goods running second.

At the moment we are finally threading the last 'little things' on our 2009 Autumn Edition of the Magazine, and hope to have it at the printers by early next week. If you aren't already subscribed to Horse Racing Australia, why not get ready for Autumn and subscribe for 12 months from just $49, click here or Phone: 02 4950 1747.

Wednesday 4th February
: My C Plan win was 'lucky' yesterday, because after I backed my two horses the favourite changed but my bet was on just one minute before the jump. Don't be too concerned though because the reverse happens too and it all evens out.

Powerplay Singles had just one winner yesterday and every other bet, well almost every one, placed. including a $2.80 and $3.50 dividend. It just means we are on the right track, just didn't crack it today. The new Powerbet "book" is back from the printers Friday and will be posted Friday. I've done my best to explain the new strategy with step by step illustrations. I'll just say one thing. The strategy works.

Tuesday 3rd Febuary: Garry had another good C Plan win today, also 'surprisingly' we managed to get another amazing Daily Feature Race winners at Cessnock today at $14.50, the Quinella paid $26 and the Trifecta paid $245.10 on IASbet.com.

Monday 2nd February:
The C Plan recovered with possibly six from nine yesterday (I say possible because I wasn't here for the day and am not sure about one or two races and the prices). Either way it was a much improved performance and balanced Saturdays poor performance.

Powerplay Singles had another good day with the best winner $15 and strangely, it was the short priced brigade that failed us with a number of seconds. Powerbet, used in the suggested manner, cleaned up and made $163 on a $10 base bet compared to $30 on level stakes. Worst losing run yesterday was eleven. Powerbet eats these up, as does Money Factory which also would have made profits yetserday.

Today is the Superbowl and I have procured -6.5 @ $1.93.5 The Steelers at IASbet.com. That 1/2 point is my edge I reckon as most agencies have -7. There are an unbelievable number of betting opportunities to keep you going during the 4 to 4 1/2 hour 'game' stretched out to allow for the $400 million dollars of advertising spots sold.

Sunday 1st February: I've closed off the Powerbet for Powerplay Singles for January and realised a dumb mistake. the $3500 profit, yes we won again yesterday, was only from the 18th of January until now. I know we can have losing months but months like January make up for it. Altogether, with usch a dry month, there were 475 Powerplay Singles for 23.8% winners at an average $4.90. This compares favorably with the figures for the past few years.

The C Plan had a horror run yesterday with only three winning races from 15. It happens. It is a bad run for a plan that averages 54% winning races.

Our Daily Feature Race found the winner at a ahort price. Our Weekend Feature had Typhoon Zed on top, second at $14.

We had six selections from 'Best Australian Horse Racing Systems' for three winners and Winfrom Gold and the 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' Premiums had three winners from seven. Both Grandslam and the Winform Singles had winners but came up one win short of making a profit. A lot of places yesterday.

The new year is showing a lot of promise.

Saturday 31st January: Too busy Saturday so Friday night I can tell you that Powerplay Single that won today at $36.48 Iasbet and propelled Powerbet to over $3000 profit for January on a $10 base bet. Money Factory is doing well with them too.

Our two Premium bets both placed to continue the place profits as per David Bendeich's article in the current edition of Horse Racing Australia Magazine.

And all this happened while my wife and two daughters headed off to Melbourne to experience 45 degrees for themselves.

Friday January 30th: Only one Powerplay Single winners yesterday but what a winner! $16.43 at IASbet.com. It was also a Winform single. The Powerbet and Money Factory strategies both reached new highs for the month although Powerbet actually won twice as much. It just depends where the winner falls I guess.

The new Powerbet strategy goes to the printers tomorrow and will be posted in two weeks. I am sure that Powerbet users will be happy with the approach. It adds an interesting new option.

It was clear after Ballarat was abandoned that the C Plan was not going to have many eligible races so I didn't even look. My mate John and I had an interesting conversation yesterday. John enjoys the atmosphere of his local TAB but it has been closed down. Now the nearest local is a PUBTAB which lacks the atmosphere entirely. Now he punts fom home, as many of us do but it teminds me of another good mate who had a multimillion dollar business. On Saturday afternoons he went without the best odds as he enjoyed his punting at his local TAB. For him his punting was a social thing. Mind you, he never left the office without his copy of the Winform Selections.

Thursday 29th January: The Daily Feature Race was a winner yesterday with a winning Quinella and Trifecta. Susannah and Prue have an excellent record with these and it doesn't seem to matter whether I select the Daily Feature Race or they do.

We have a mini crisis on our hands with the current heatwave. Yesterday's Gawler meeting was abandoned altogether along with the later races at Geelong and today's Ballarat meeting has already gone. I would expect the continued heat over the next few days could also affect trackwork and barrier trials which will consequently interfere with the preparation of horses heading into the Autumn Carnival. It is another trap for punters and it could have good or bad results, but we won't know until it happens.

Saturday's Flemington meeting has been brought forward to an 11:30 a.m. start with an early finish. I don't see the benefit as they will still race in the hottest part of the day. The water policy is not helping either. At Geelong yesterday they put the equivalent of two days of heavy rain on the track. If owners wanted to run on wet tracks they would race their horses in winter.

Wednesday 28th January: Our Success Express and Winform Gold Selection at Nowra yesterday won at $3.00, whilst the Winform Daily Feature Race at Hamilton yesterday 'Hidden Expense' won and paid $2.90. You might have noticed in yesterday's email to Members that we have fantastic rewards promotion for new Winform Singles or Winform Ratings Subscribers for more details click here before this Saturday.

Tuesday 27th January:
Five Premium bets again yesterday but a different result. Two winners but only Emissary in Randwick Race two unplaced. Prices were too short to get square. Powerplay Singles had 26 bets for 5 wins which is average and there were many placings at good prices. Powerbet reached a new high for the month, as did Money Factory when the Randwick single Fear No Other won.

The New Winform Singles won well yesterday. These are supplied free with the daily Winform Ratings or can be purchased separately by SMS for just $445. With a 26% strike rate this month they have already covered their cost for many new players.

We did have a query about whether the Powerplay Singles can be purchased separately but this will not happen. The Winform Top Two was down yesterday on usual but once again, many placings. The C Plan had three from the first four but as I had the family over I lost track after that.

Monday 26th January: I've set this up late Sunday. Happy Australia Day. Sunday has been brilliant. The Powerplay Singles have reached a new high, the C Plan had six from nine. The 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' bets from the Premium had five from five. At least I did. I assumed a track upgrade for Yarra Valley and can't believe it was Dead all day as there was no rain recently. In any case, I put all my bets on early and collected nicely.

The unfortunate part. I did a Trixie (three specials) and a Double. Very consertative. Had I taken a Canadian (5 horses all ways) a small bet paid over $24,000 and I haven't ever scored one of those.

Mondays early ratings are on both Saturday and Monday. I'll bring them up to date by 11 a.m.

Sunday 25th January: Powerplay Singles came out on top and three of the five 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' quaified Premiums won, that's 60%. No big prices but don't turn up your nose at a profit. The Winform Singles have proven effective and these are on SMS every day, although ratings subscribers pick them up for free off the Internet.

I scored with the very first C Plan race and thought: "that will do nicely".

The Powerplay Singles workout using Powerbet made $164 yesterday, remember we are using a base bet of just $10 so that's not bad. We started the day with six wins from eight and ended the day with four from eight.

Saturday 24th January: Bloody good friday. Powerplay Singles had a good winning day. The Powerbet series which started on the 18th with a $10 base bet and $1,000 Total Bank has made $1080.30 with winners at the last two races at Darwin. I didn't see the C Plan because I took a rare break to see the Valkyrie movie and you would be hard to please if you didn't find it absorbing. So Tom Cruise is in every scene, well he plays the chief conspirator does't he?

I suppose you could say I made $815 while I took in the airconditioing at the movies instead of sweltering in the 40 degree heat outside.

The Winform Top Two went well again with three double figure winners. To be honest, business isn't great. Many of our members have seen their Superfund drop as much as 90%. It doesn't give you much to fall back on does it? And punting is a psychological game. Fortunately, I have just finished reviewing the very worst periods of the past four years and both Powerbet and Money Factory produced profits overall.

It seems like a $10,000 Bank and the Powerplay Singles is good enough to produce as much as $30,000 to $50,000 annual profit if you hang in there. That's not to say that we don't have anything for the weekend player with $5, $10 and $20 bets. GrandSlam is already in front and Winform Singles are also showing a nice profit for the year so far.

Our balance sheet is strong and we won't be going anywhere soon. In fact we are betting stronger to make up the difference.

Friday 23rd January: A reminder to Saturday Subscribers that the Australia Day Ratings (Monday) will appear under Saturday.

Powerplay Singles recorded an excellent profit yesterday. Using the recommended Powerbet strategy with a $10 base bet, the series cleared with $746 profit. Level stakes scored a good profit with +19 units for the day. I just missed a brilliant Double with a photo 2nd. I missed thousands but make $4k on the day.

The Winform Top Two had a blinder and the C Plan looked good. Trevor Johns' horses did well at Townsville.

Thursday 22nd January: 33% winners in the Top Two today. Powerplay Singles are still elusive but 25 units ahead for the month, pity I hadn't released them earlier. The Powerbet plan of attack is still holding up but we need an early winner or two to clear the current series. That $29 winner was great for the Top Two players.

Peter told me today he has amended my favourite plan in: 'Race Winning Strategies' and that he is doing well with it using Money Factory. We also had quite a few enquiries today about the soon to be lanuched Professional Punting Package and strangely enough most enquiries came from people who are already professional punters.

We are keeping a list and will be returning calls once the final details are ready but keep calling in if you are interested.

The C Plan was in front after just two races today. In the first one both horses lost bu the one that ran second paid $17 for the place! That's two of those this week. The longshots are coming back.

Wednesday 21st January: Over 40% winners for the Top Two yesterday including a $12.70 and $23 winner. The C Plan had another successful day with profit reached early and five out of six for the day.

Powerplay singles had a $16 shot go down at the finish to prevent what would have been a great winning day. Apart form that there was no Powerplay action for the day.

We’re putting together an ULTIMATE Professional Punters package which provides all the tools you need to be a Professional Punter, whether that be just the weekend or Monday to Friday. Cost of the package is $11,000 but due to our special arrangements it includes a $7500 Bank to kick you off. To obtain details of the package simply call the office on 02 4950 1747 and it will be sent to you.

The Powerbet strategy book, along with details of our worst losing period ( well actually we won over the period) is going along steadily and we hope to have it by early February. All Powerbet owners will be advised individually.

Tuesday 20th January: Difficult conditions again yesterday with Mackay rated Slow then downgraded to Heavy then upgraded again. One winner from originally five but with our upgrade four and the winner was $1.60 so no joy there. I haven't had a successful all up for nine days and so suffer the indignity of giving back $9k of my winnings for the year. Now only $2k in front. Things have to improve.

Trevor Johns' strategy scored a $44 winner yesterday and that is three at better than $35 since last Thursday. It pays to stick. Four good meetings today, so we should have some fun...and money.

Monday 19th January:Not an overly successful day yesterday with many selections finishing unplaced. However we did have success with one of our Last Start Winners at Port Macquarie. You can read and learn all about the Last Start Winners in Prue's debut publication the 'Last Start Winners Guide' available for $99. Visit our online bookshop or call the office on 02 4950 1747 to order your copy. Today we have three Race Meets covered at Stawell, Moruya and Mackay. Let's see if our New Winform Singles can come out on top.

By now you should have your first Winform Newsletter for the new year. NSW members don't forget to have your say regarding the recent changes to the Racing legislation which disallows bookmakers from offering you incentives, bonuses and free bets. Write to The Hon, Kevin Greene, Minister for Gaming ang Racing. Level 13-55 Hunter St Sydney NSW 2000.

Sunday 18th January: : I made an error. The $5.50 winner mentioned yesterday was a new single, not a Grandslam. The Powerbet singles lost a couple of units today but the Powerbet workout ended up about square. Plenty of winners today in the Winform Top Two including a couple of longshots.

C Plan was almost unworkable today with few meetings offering fixed prices to work off. If todays meeting were midweek meetings we would have all the prices available.

Ive spent a lot of time doing workouts on the Powerplay singles and started with the worst run of outs in the past four years. Over the period May 2007 to October 2007 (and this included EI remember) there was a profit on level stakes of $3185.29 but using Powerbet the recommended way for the same outlay returned $4673.70 or 46.6% more and this is generally the result. In total only five series resulted in a restart and at one stage there were 65 Powerbet series making a profit in a row.

The worst out was at the end of June at -$3201. We used a base bet of $10 for Powerbet. January 2007 to the end of April 2007 were all profitable. There was one other losig month towards then end of 2007 and I will finalise those workouts in a couple of days.

Saturday 17th January:: Our first Best Bet has won at Queanbeyan. In the first Grandslam race Vonrob was rated $2.7 and Rivers Lane 2.8. Wouldn't you back them both? Rivers Lane won at $29.90

Powerplay subscribers have already collected on two excellent Running Doubles at $64 and $51. Powerbet users betting all races are miles in front too. If you quit when in front, now's the time with a $300+ profit already.

GRANDSLAM HAS A $5.50 WINNER, THE C PLAN HAD FOUR FROM THE FIRST SIX BETS AND POWERPLAY SUBSCRIBERS HAVE THE FIRST LEG OF THE FLEMINGTON QUADDIE AT $20.

I'll check the others tomorrow. We also got the second leg in at $16 but that's where our luck ran out. The Top Two yesterday was awesome with some double figure winners and the C Plan was 7 from 12 when I stopped watching. The Powerplay singles had a bad day but Powerbet still managed to close two series for a profit with a modest carryover.

Friday 16th January: Does $55 sound like a good winner? How about a $13.80 placegetter? We had some good feedback yesterday. John .A. needed assistance to transfer his Powerbet program to a new Vista computer. Naturally once it was installed he decided to get into the action. He rarely has a losing day with Powerbet and the Winform Top Two. He quits when a few hundred in front and that didn't take long yesterday.

We had a similar report from another Member yesterday who normally bets just Saturday and Sunday. Mark told me he was having a golden run. Last Saturday he had made his profit after three races.

The C Plan got off to a good start yesterday as well. I can't see any reason why the quit when in front should do it any other way, even though there are often more profits ahead. It depends what is comfortable for you.

It hit 42 degrees outside our office yesterday. Stormy all night last night and more comfortable today. Another fun day ahead I hope.

Thursday 15th January: Prue heads off today for her annual pilgrimage to Tamworth. I don't know whether it is good news or bad news but it means that I am in the office every day until she returns.

Today is the last day you can purchase Money Factory Professional Edition for just $990 including three months Winform ratings. One Member asked about time payment, well the good news is we will do that on a lay by type arrangement. You simply commit to pay so much per week or month and when the money is paid in full you are ready to start. This applies to Money Factory only, today only. Remember once you have the program it is yours to use for life.
Call 02 49501 747 or click hereto order through the Winform Bookshop Online.

The C Plan had another brilliant day yesterday with some excellent returns.

Our results yesterday were very consistent. Not as many winners as we would like but all but a couple were right in the slot at the finish with one horse paying $3.50 for the place. Both Best Bets selections placed.

Wednesday 14th January: Powerplay found five of the eight winners at Cessnock yesterday but missed the Treble and Quaddie. The C Plan had just three bets yesterday but scored with three good winners.

I've just finished an analysis of the worst result for the Powerplay Singles over the last four years. May and June 07 were bad losing months but July and August both won. For the four month period Powerbet doubled the level stakes profit. The worst out was just over $3000. Overall profit was just a few hundred dollars and at the time it would seem as about exciting as watching grass grow but the year was great and Powerbet will always improve profit compared to level stakes.

At one stage in August 07 there were 32 series completions in a row and anyone who has used Powerbet knows what a massive result that is.

Tuesday 13th January: Not the best day yesterday with our selections. Another quiet day for Racing with meetings only scheduled at Cessnock and Seymour.

Monday 12th January: Busy day today organising our first Newsletter mailout for 2009. Stony Creek and Dubbo are the only meetings for today with Stony Creek looking to upgrade to GOOD.

Sunday 11th January: So Ros and I get a phone call to be out the front of the house to be picked up for our surprise Christmas trip. They are half an hour late. We stand around outside after locking up the house and the yard so the dogs we are looking after can't get out and still no sign of anybody.

The dogs are barking at the gate and we look down and see beyond the gate that someone has tied up a rubber ducky to our jetty which is typical of what happens around here at Holiday times. One of the men comes up to the front of our house and it is my nephew Peter who just happens to have a jet ski and a few mates with boats and he often calls around unannounced.

We say: "Sorry Pete, we're just on our way out. Shayne and Natalie are picking us up." And he says: "Well can't you at least come down to say hello to my mate. We've just spent over an hour getting here. "

You've guessed the rest. When we got down to the water there is a 58 metre yach with friends and relos anchored a couple of hundred metres off the shore. So no it wasn't white water rafting but an afternoon and evening cruise with drinks lunch evening BBQ and good times.

About the punt? Well one short priced winner, no harm to my Bank and we did have a good time, although about 11:00 p.m. Natalie calls to tell us that while taking Ros' mother home some lout has thrown a brick through the window as they were driving along. Seriously, what can you do about these idiots?

Before I forget. I must apologise to Powerplay Subscribers. Of course all of our regular Singles Selections should be included with the new selections we have come up with. The new strategy works either way and duplicate selections can be ignored. Teething problems I guess but we will fix it so Powerplay users need only to look up the one page for their group of selections plus the overall ratings if they require them. I will set it up today.

Grandslam had a great start to the new year with our $15.70 winner yesterday.

Saturday 10th January: I'm about to be picked up by my son in law for a surprise Christmas present, which I think might be white water rafting at Penrith so I won't be up to much today. Either way he promises it is an all day adventure.

I have backed 'Kwassa Kwassa' at Caulfield as I am sure the track is Good and it will be a Best Bet if it is. I am also on 'Dantes Volonte' which is going for win five in a row and I have them all up. I worry that 'Scenic Blast', a first up specialist, can knock him off in the small field.

Yesterday not much happened, although the Daily Feature Race advice was back the top four and the winner was amongst them and at $7.40. That's a profit.

Friday 9th January: Two eligible selections for 'The Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' yesterday, both won and as I had them all up it made the result worthwhile. I bet the first winner at top fluctuation with Iasbet and got $1.75. This compares favourably with the final price of $1.40. No big deal if you are betting $5 or $10 maybe but most of our subscribers were on for $50 to $500.

The Magic Millions sale has been going well and it does indicate that there is nothing wrong with the economy. Harvey and Singleton talked their expectations down which probably turned a few bidders off and average prices have been less but when you see horses going for $2 million dollars you know that someone somewhere is making plenty of money.

We have had quite a few Member take advantage of our price break on Money Factory. A reminder that the current offer expires on 15th January. Details of the new packages will be in the January Newsletter which is being sent next week.

Powerplay subscribers got the last three winners at Penola and if it were any other venue that gives you the Treble but for South Australian races they are never the Treble legs. Is that our one thousandth way to lose money at the races?

Thursday January 8th: A great day for our new Winform Singles plan with two bets for one win at $6.50. The new Powerplay Singles were successful too with three wins from eleven bets and $1170 profit on $100 bets. Tht's over $3,000 since last week. Let's hope it continues.

It would be good to get feedback from subscribers to let us know how they went, click here.

Wednesday January 7th: More on yesterdays plan. I solved part of the puzzle. I separated Metro meetings from the Country Provincial meetings and then separately split the Country/Provicial meetings by separating out the Maidens.

The dilemna hasn't changed though with 2003 and 2004 still being well below the other years. The strike rates were the same right through the entire nine years and it was the dividends in 2003 and 2004 that were below par.

To bet $100 level stakes required a Bank of $50,000 yet for 68 of the 72 months the drawdown did not exceed $10,000. In that period though your drawdown was just under $30,000. It was no problem if you still had the profits from previous years.

We have recommended a Powerbet approach to the problem and so only our Powerplay Subscribers will have access to the selections at the moment. For your interest, a $100 bet placed on all selections since January 1st returned $2180 profit.

I trimmed about 1,000 bets per year with some very logical changes e.g age of horse, a closer look at the class of last start and eliminating 'bad' data. The changes improved the profits for 2000 to 2004 dramatically but had little effect on 2005 to 2008 as the Ratings based races took over from Class 1 to Class 6. Still, an average of $45,000 per year profit from $100 bets is as impressive as you will ever see.

I am putting together a new book to explain the main points so that anyone can improve their punting.

Tuesday 6th January: Here's a challenge for you. My new Plan has figures as follows:

2000: $14200 Profit January to March 31st -$12100 21% S/R av $4.90
2001: $1930 Profit January/February -$8340 September to December -$18710 20% S/R av $4.97
2002: $40540 Profit January to March -$3260 and add that to the Sep/Dec loss of 2001 20.7% S/R av $5.22
2003: $10070 Profit April to October -$22140 21% S/R av $4.84
2004: $2710 Profit February to April -$29230 21% S/R av $4.74
2005: $46070 Profit and in profit all year, only one losing month March -$6060 21.7% S/R av $4.96
2006: $46190 Profit Never behind but three losing months 22% S/R av $4.92
2007: $24770 Profit May to June -$11080 November -$9830 (EI) 20.4% S/R av $5.13
2008: $54910 Profit December -$5180 21.2% S/R av $5.14

Have you ever see a plan that has 5000 bets per year and makes a level stakes profit EVERY YEAR for nine years in a row?

As far as I can see the only Bank with reasonable safety is $50,000 using $100 bets. September 2001 to March 2002 was a long losing streak. In 2003 it went from April to October. In 2004 from Februay to April in 2006 May to September in 2007 April and May and in 2008 won all the way.

With a $50,00 Bank behind you your profit for the nine years is $240,000. It is the only plan that I have ever seen with such a long winning streak and so consistent. The reason for the lossy periods was either a drop in dividends or a drop in strike rate which was temporary. Learn to deal with the above and you are made.

Monday 5th January: I had another all up each way bet yesterday. I didn't get the winner in either race but they both placed for a 55% return. In a "system" I was looking at there were 33 bets of which six won and 57% placed. There were ten each way Doubles. The best result was a $8.10 return. None of the Doubles resulted in two wins. The 33 bets returned $36.30 for the win and $32.47 for the Doubles. Just one Double in which both horses won would have doubled that return.

There was one qualifying bet from The Last Start Winners Guide. It won at $7+. Our Best Bet was unplaced but we did get the Daily Feature race winner at a good price of $5. It's just gone 6 a.m. and I am on my way to the office. I should be there by 7 a.m.

Sunday 4th January: Personally $5400 up.Took an all up with Grandslam and Winform Gold. Grandslam 2 out of 3 for a great start to the New Year. Best Bets missed out, life is tough. Three legs of the Pinjarra Quaddie in again. Bugga!

Ros is sick (she spent the whole day on her knees yesterday sanding) and she always over does it. Goes to show we never learn. I learnt. After my big collect I sat and watched a movie. Didn't miss a winner either. I'd follow up on Outlandish Lad in Adelaide as he was unlucky Saturday.

Saturday 3rd January: A losing day for me as I simply coupled up the Best Bets which had two for one placed horse. The C Plan was excellent but as I was busy writing for the Autumn Edition of Horse Racing Australia I wasn't able to bet "on the run". Powerplay scored the Geelong Treble and seven wins from the eight races, missing only the first leg of the Quaddie and the Daily Double at Albury where five winners turned up.

Today I will adopt the same strategy, attempting more parlay opportunities.

Friday 2nd January: Today our first Best Bet has run second but the C Plan has four winners from the first five eligible races. Yesterday there were two Premiums for one $3.10 winner and a placing. It’s a good start to the year. Also anyone that is interest in out 2008 Results Summary, please click here

Thursday 1st January:
A busy day in the office for Susannah yesterday with renewals and back orders for the Magazine. Many people have picked up the Magazine for the first time for holiday reading but liked it so much they have ordered all the back copies. Our decision to hold aside at least 1,000 of each issue (some we hold 3,000) has paid off.

2008 has been a successful year for most of the selections services, especially Best Bets, Grandslam, Best Australian Horse Racing Systems, Winform Gold and Premium with the 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' Rules applied (over 60% winners and 80% placed). From tomorrow we are changing our results process to a new format so you won't have to wait until the end of the month to see results.

Yesterday we had two out of four for the Winform Singles and while these have had a disappointing year they have been in profit since June (up about 27 units), all of the losses having been in the first five months of the year. We are currently reviewing our selection process for these.

Today all races will be up at 11 a.m. Saturday only subscribers can see today's races under Saturday. Early actual Saturday will be updated overnight.

Wednesday 31st December: The team at Winform wish you all a very Happy and Safe New Year! Please note that tomorrow's Ratings will be available from 11am. The early file has been placed on the Thursday and Saturday pages. Friday's early Ratings are now available and Saturday's early Ratings will be available Friday morning.

Tuesday 30th December: No Powerplay action at all yesterday and just as well Stoney Creek returned no winners at all and Gosford was hit by huge lightning storms that delayed racing for hours. Only one winner in the Top Two between the two meetings. I had a rest day with visitors which was a wise decision.

Three meeings today and it might be worth having a go depending on track conditions.

Monday 29th December: Two qualified bets on Sunday. Both lost. One Unitab bet from book one of 'The Key To Winning Consistently' and it won. I had $1,000 on it to get back my losses on those other two. I also had a bet all up on our Top Rated horses in races 7 and 9 at Geraldton. My cost was $200 and for a win and a place I scored $2900+. I bet win/win (lost) win/place (won) place win (lost) and place/place (won). Surprise Impact was coming downs so many classes it wasn't funny but he was penalised and carried 63.5kgs and almost stole it at the 100 metre mark. Had he lasted it was a $9k win.

Powerplay Subscribers scored with the Kilmore Quaddie and Treble.

Sunday December 28th: After all the trouble and expense to get Mat to Lithgow for his shift this morning they decided not to work. That's after $200 in expenses for petrol, motel and 3.5 hrs driving. He came home which is another $60 petrol and 4 hours in the holiday traffic but they did agree to pay the men $400 each and so they should. Anyhow, our Feature Race found the winner which was a Grandslam and the Trifecta which paid $500-$600+ depending where you placed your bet. I went with IASbet.com

Seven qualified Premium Bets Saturday for five winners. No flash prices but you can't lose at that hit rate. Only one missed the place and an all-up would be interesting.

A funny thing happened to me. I bet those horses Friday at Sportingbet and I 'won' $3000 but when I went to place my first bet Saturday I had only won $2480+. How did that happen? I've asked them for an explanation but the point is that I shouldn't have to. My last race was run at about 6 p.m. and I checked about 8.30, more than enough time to pick up any errors. I'll let you know what I hear back.

A couple of months ago CentreRacing.com credited me $54,000+ and I was confident when I looked at the figures they had made a mistake. The ordinary punter would not have known and may have bet some of that money. The next day they reversed the dividend and paid $5400 but what if I had bet say $10,000 and lost it? Once again there was no explanation and although I didn''t bother to ask, I should have been told.

Be aware that human supervisors check most bigger paying bets but it is wise to do your own checks. Here is the reply I received from Sportingbet. My opinion is that you should be advised and not discover it later.

Dear Garry, Due to a re-resulting on 27/12/08 these bets were placed on the 26/12/08 and an incorrect dividend was entered and picked up in the checking this morning.  The Bet affected are on 26/12/08 Pinjarra Race 1/ 15 and Caulfield Race 1/ 1 , your Sportingbet Account has been debited due to these re-resulting.  Sportingbet apologise for any inconvenience caused in this situation and if you would like more details of this re-resulting please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Line on 1800 007 238 or alternatively via email admin@sportingbet.com.au

Brenton Burford had a bit of luck yesterday. How he manages to back horses that get protested against? Luckily he bet with Iasbet and will still get paid even though the protest was uphold. It is one of the huge benefits of betting with IASbet.com

December 27th: I had bugger all time for a bet yesterday as Matt's car karked it and the railways decided not to go to Lithgow this weekend. I lent him my car and took the train back from Sydney. What to do? I linked the Premium Selections in the Trixie for $100 and voila! A $3,000 profit. Our good mate Brenton Burford kept me up to date along the way. I don't know why the railways don't offer a results service for their passengers but the that's NSW for you.

Our Daily Feature Race couldn't find our top rated horse a winner but we did have the $33 Quinella in our selections. I was late back but I did get the early Saturday back up about 8 p.m. I had a go at the Quaddie too and scored the first three legs at Pinjarra. Only missed the last leg....again. It's on again today.

Friday December 26th: Ratings will go up by 10:00 a.m. approx. on both Friday and Saturday page. Saturday Early Ratings will be back up after 6 p.m. tonight.

Wednesday December 24th: We wish you a lot of winners, we wish you a lot of winners, we wish you a lot of winners, in a happy New Year!

Boxing Day races will appear in the Saturday File on Friday, Early Saturday will come down Friday morning and go back up 6 p.m. . It is, however, there now.

We have had many Members Phone in this morning letting us know about their success on the 'Reindeer Racing Game' on the Betezy website. Winform Members that have accounts with Betezy have been winning anything between $20 and in David Toulson's case $500, on this game. The game is free to all new and current Account holders at Betezy.

Tuesday 23rd December: There were no official Selections yesterday with our carefully selected unofficial Best Bet placing second. Today we have racing at Sale, Mackay and Goulburn so here is hoping for a successful day.

We stayed back in the office until almost 9pm last night to ensure that all orders and Gift Subscriptions to the magazine are out in time for Christmas. Remember there is only one day left for your last minute Christmas orders so call the office direct on 02 4950 1747 or head to our online bookshop click here.

Tomorrow the office will close at 12 Midday and won't reopen until Saturday 27th December, so if you need to contact us you can do so by calling 02 4950 1747 before 12 midday or alternatively you can direct all correspondence via our main email direct@hunterlink.net.au. We will ensure to answer all of your emails as soon as we are back in the office.

Monday 22nd December: Sunday produced four Premium selections, three qualified and as sometimes happens the one that didn’t qualify won, the others had a $3.10 winner and two seconds, however one of those paid no place dividend.

Don’t forget, if you are due to have a subscription expiring in the next week, our last office day is 12 noon Wednesday but we will be back Monday.

It has been a great winning weekend plus I survived the annual party with the relatives. I even snuck out on a Jetski yesterday and the only harm done was a slightly sunburnt scalp. The end of this week will be extremely busy with Boxing Day and Saturday straight up.

Sunday 21st December: We didn't get the result we wanted for Grandslam with just one short priced winner on top but the Premium selections after applying the David Bendeich rules produced five winners from seven bets and the possibilities were endless for exploiting the parlays. My personal result was over $10,000 with the combination known as the Trixie plus the win only bets.

Powerplay nailed the Gold Coast Treble but that was the only one.

I reckon 'Snipers Bullet' was the unluckiest runner in the Villlers but on a positive note the winner was selected by two of the Best Australian Horse Racing Systems plans. At $23.70 that has made a massive profit for the year. Combining that horse with our top four Feature race selections produced the Trifecta which paid over $6600 on Iasbet.

Saturday 20th December: A good start with our first Best Bet home at $2.80. We have about six or seven good bets today and that's without Grandslam which had some good wins last week but without any big prices. There are some good prices today so we might get lucky.

I have missed neraly every Treble lately and missed the one where we had a 100/1 winner in the last leg. I did get the Daily Double but at $235 it wasn't much compensation.

The big races today are The Villiers at Randwick and the Coty Pacific at Doomben (race 7) which has a massive First Four on offer. I can see nine chances without trying so good luck.

This is the last Saturday before Christmas so please can we get the chocolates today?

Friday 19th December: What no mention of The C Plan? Hey, that plan is well and truly proven. No mention of the Powerplay Doubles or Trebles, well we've proven that works too. Too busy to do the diary for Thursday, Susannah is on sick leave and back next week, there is a bug going around and it has really knocked her out.

Winform Gold today had three bets for a win at $4 and a second and third. We will be changing our results report from January 1st and only reporting on horses once so if the one horses is selected by more than one system it will appear only once in the stats. We will continue with the Money Factory workouts, the 'Best Australian Horse Racing Systems' have returned nearly $7,000 this year so far on a $4200 Bank.

Tonight I placed substantial bets on Snipers Bullet in the Villiers and a smaller bet on Theopoulus and I can't see anyhting else with a serious chance.

Tomorrow, I get three teeth capped but I am dropping my wife off for a colonoscopy on the way, lucky girl. Luckily you don't remember too much about these tests and there aren't many people who miss out on the pleasure. Do they use the same little camera each time? It's a shitty job but someone has to do it. Maybe they should get Kenny to do a eries of some of the more unique medical tests.

Prue came up roses again on Wednesday with another Feature Race win plus the Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First Four were all within the selections. For the Autumn Ediiton she is going to explain how she has become so successful with these events.

If you have been to a newsagent to get Horse Racing Australia Magazine and they are sold out (one agency I checked yesterday sold out the first week) you can order it in. Gordon and Gotch, our distributors, hold 500 copies of each edition spare just for extra orders from newsagents.

Wednesday 17th December: Well we had a good feeling about Cessnock yesterday and we were on the money. Powerplay and Powerbet users yesterday were delighted with the last at Cessnock with the Winform Top Rated 'Jomidale' won and paid $103.00. We have had some great feedback already from Members who got their bet on:

'Hi All, Congratulations and thanks for that Top Rated winner in the last at Cessnock. A losing day was turned into a very nice one'. Mr. G. Reid

'Hi Winform Team, Excellent result (again) for Powerbet today.Cessnock R9  No. 10 Jomidale....Top rated and won at 120/1, Beautiful! And I've just paid for my subs renewal. Garry, you are the king! Cheers' Mr. Byrne

We have an excellent lineup of Selections today with racing at Strathalbyn, Ascot, Eagle Farm, Sandown and Wyong.

Tuesday 16th December: We had an interesting email from one of our Members, Mr Amos, who asked what the percentage of odds on favourites that win (Thoroughbreds) were? And also what percentage of favourites are priced between $2.00 and $3.00 win? We did a little bit of homework and this is what we came up with:

Odds on Favourites this year: 844 winners from 1604 bets, average win price $1.78 and loss 6.2%
Even Money $2.00 to $3.00: 2315 winners from 6560 35% at an average dividend of $2.74 and a loss of just 3.2%.
Overall 38.7% which is only 0.5% different from those in 'My Favourite Book'.

We have just re-printed Garry's: 'My Favourite Book', order your copy here or Phone: (02) 4950 1747.

Monday 15th December: An astounding Top Two strike rate yesterday at 45%, however that failed to produce any Powerplay Trebles or Quaddies but they will come, they always do. The Premium Selections had one win and a second from the two selections but we would have had another Winform Gold winner if the late scratching at Sunshine Coast had come through early enough.

The Daily Feature Race has been producing some good results and you can get these by calling: 1902 210 868 and using the PIN: 2612 (small call cost) or by paying a small additional fee and accessing the Internet. They say that: “you can beta a race but you can’t beat the races” well we regularly beat the race with the Daily Feature and we do beat the races too with our Money Factory Professional Edition software.

Today we have a rare Monday meeting at Ascot so updates at 11:00 a.m. Four race meetings for Monday is not seen often so those of our professionals just might have to work for a change and no day off tomorrow, they’re racing at Cessnock and you don’t want to miss that.

Sunday 14th December: Members generally did well yesterday. Takeover Target won well and it's hard to believe he is a 9yo. I spent yesterday with my son in Lithgow and so missed the day's action but it was important to see him settle in to a new area where he has a new contract. Prue was able to get my Winform Gold bets on and two of these won with the other two placing. As the last of these raced I had cued up Brenton Burford to let me know the result but going through the Blue Mountains area there was absolutely zero access for mobiles. It took over half an hour to find out that Nollemamar had run 3rd, spoling my all up bet.

Today I have my side of the famiily at home for our Christmas, next week it is 'her' side and then Chrismas it is 'just us and my kinds'.

Grandslam and a mamoth book yesterday with 14 bets of which five won and another four placed. No longshots unfortunately.

Saturday 13th December: Plenty of race meetings yesterday but not much action for Winform. There was not one single Powerplay meeting, however our Daily Feature Race was a winner for Members. Today is the day of the big wet with only Ascot likely to present a good track. Takeover Target is runnng over 1400 meters, a distance he has only been successful at once before.

We are hopeful that Grandslam can find some winners today and at good prices. We are due, but even if it doesn't the year will still be successful.

The four systems from Best Australian Horse Racing Systems is well in front for the year. Not all are in front but they all continue to find winners and overall you couldn't lose.

Friday 12th December 2008: Of yesterdays Premium selections three met the criteria in David Bendeich’s book. Two of these won at $1.70 and $3.50 and the third, a Winform Gold selection (these don’t have to pass any rules) ran 3rd at $8+ with a place dividend above $2 on all TABs.There was only one Powerplay meeting yesterday and for the first time we can remember there were no winning Doubles. Three races were won by the Powerplay horses but none at double figure odds.

A review of last Monday’s Racing and Sports Betting forum is now online. To read click here

Thursday 11th December: Powerplay scored the Ascot and Gawler Trebles yesterday plus both Quaddies. They weren’t mammoth but well received. There was a huge number of Doubles successes as well. The Premium selections that passed the 'Key to Winning Consistently Two' test found three winners and a second from five selections. It really is a winning strategy. Even Best Bet subscribers would benefit from applying the Bendeich rules to the Best Bet selections. Our Best Bets ended yesterday with a win and a place from three selections. Our Last Start Winner Selection taken from the system in Prue Hawkins' debut publication 'The Last Start Winners Guide' was a success along with our Daily Feature Race pick. A successful day all round!

Wednesday 10th December: Today I start with the accountants office to be advised how our business went taxwise for last year. It won't be pretty. Most have forgotten E.I. but our business like all horse related businesses, suffered badly. We've recovered but there is a financial scar.

Yesterday we suffered a financial scar too because it was one of those days where you could not win no matter what you did. Pity those punters who worked out a winning strategy but started yesterday on a losing run. It happens you know. Fortunately, I lost $1500 but that was from four losing bets and they sit in my Money Factory workout so will be easily recovered, probably today. Do I sound optimistic? I am. Maybe I'll get a tax refund. That should cover it.

I noticed last year when 'The Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' was released that the forums were very active and one forum in particular had many nasty attacks on the concept however one purchaser known as concrete 123 told the forum he was in front, although he didn't like the way I reported it (the results) on this diary. He promised to advise the forum how the Unitab selections from the book had gone. He reported back to the forum after three months of operation and confirmed what we have said that the selections are in solid profit, although he made more by getting better prices, over 9%, and Money Factory made over 20% from the same selections.

On a different note, one of our Members has advised me that he has prostate cancer, although the severity is yet to be determined. My brother and my brother in law have also been diagnosed in the last year. My brother had the surgery and is recovering well and my in law is being closely monitored. It is a reminder to all of us men that regular PSA testing is a must. 80% of this disease is successfully treated with positive outcomes increasing.

Tuesday 9th December: I didn't miss much after all as it turns out. Our one Premium bet placed. Our one Powerplay venue did not produce a Treble or Quaddie.

At the Racing and Sports Betting Forum yesterday Peter V'landys of Racing NSW made an impassioned address regarding the rights of Racing NSW in regards to the revenue produced by NSW 'citizens'. It echos the sentiments of the State Government which treats it's residents as taxable entities and has done for years. Nowhere in the address was consideration given towards improving the lot of punters, who are the drivers of the majority of Racing revenue.

In a later presentation it was pointed out that NSW had wasted the last ten years by persisting with protectionist legislation instead of competing with overseas and Interstate jurisdictions which now have such a substantial share of the wagering dollar.

There are big changes ahead but unfotunately I didn't see any changes that were favourable for the punter. If anything the racefields legislation enacted by NSW and followed by Queensland Racing last week can only increase the margins that we as punters have to overcome.

Monday 8th December: A massive 45% Top Two strike rate yesterday even including a diasastrous Hobart meeting which to our surprise was held on their Inner track. Next weekend I just happened to overhear that the three feature races are on the main track and the rest on the Inner track. That may not be the reason, it may have been just a statistical blip.

Anyhow, we had two Best Bets, both passed by the Key to Winning Consistently Two rules fro a 3rd and a win at $3. Our Premium selection started at $1.50, failed the Key to Winning Consistently Two test and did not run a place. There were two KTWC2 selections from the Unitab section for a win at $4.90.

Our Daily Feature race provided the winner in the Top Two as suggested. We made a small profit on the Powerbet Doubles. Susannah is in the office today and will be providing all the usual services.

Sunday 7th December: I can't claim a win yesterday as only one of the six Premium selections won. There was one photo second which was good enough to make us square but it was not to be. Powerplay scored 62% winners yesterday but failed to score a Quaddie or Treble and the Doubles, in spite of one at $176.70, lost for the day. I still haven't figured out the solution to the problem of how to take full advamtage of the high strike rate which is nearly always better than 55%.

I can't punt tomorrow as I will be at the Racing and Sports Betting Forum at Swissotel in Sydney so it is a good day for everyone else to get on perhaps.

Today there is a top class meeting at Wyong and Sportingbet is treating it as a Metropolitan meeting. I live close to Wyong and even after an overnight shower the track will be on fire. Iasbet is giving a refund to punters if their horse runs seoncd in Race 6 the Magic Millons 3yo which is also our Daily Feature Race. I am backing two horses os could score an extra point for free.

Saturday 6th December: We have had a mammoth response to our news yesterday re NSW punters being denied free bets which is allegedly done to prevent problem gambling. In the NSW Governments own report it shows clearly that 42% of problem gamblers bet at a betting oulet e.g. face to face at the track or TAB agency. Only 3% of problem gamblers bet online.

That said, my personal betting is heavily geared towards the Premium selections which fit the rules of The Key to Winning Consistently Two and using them in Money Factory. Given the excellent record of these since publication I have been surprised to find that we haven't yet sold the last few copies so there are still about 30 books left. Three losers in a row yesterday so I would expect a rebound today.

I admit I made a mistake on Thursday but so did many of our subscribers in betting International Man. Luckily it won. This time of the year is usually good for Grandslam so let's hope for some good action today.

Friday 5th December: Apologies for the error earlier in today's diary. The Selections that were bet on yesterday that gave Garry a $13,000 gain, was not a Premium Selection but in fact a Winform Top Rated horse. Christmas came early Thursday when I took a $160 Patent with IASbet.com on our approved 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' Premium section Selections. I landed $3k separately and landed the Pinjarra Quaddie and Treble and Daily Double with our Top Rated Winform horses. Each leg of the UNITAB Quaddie yesterday was won by the Winform Top Rated and paid $1,000, and yes Garry did back it.

I was not happy to see that NSW residents are not allowed as of yesterday to receive free bets and that includes things like deposit bonuses and refer a friend deals too I imagine. Basically now that we are allowed to accept advertising the advertisers are not allowed to advertise any deals. That's like saying Woolworths and Coles can't offer any specials. It's ludicrous and I will say so at the Racing and Sports Betting forum on Monday which will be attended by Racing NSW and I expect representatives of the Racing and Gaming department.

It's OK for NSW lotteries to sell scratchies when the major prize has already gone off but it's not OK for bookmakers to give you a bonus? This has to be the lamest government that ever held office. Bring back Guy Fawkes!

Thursday 4th December: We scored the Hawkesbury Quaddie yesterday and the Treble and landed 12 doubles from 23 races but it wasn't enough. There was one very good double but the remainder were below average. Top Two was at 30% yesterday and I chose to leave out Eagle Farm which is normally a poor venue for Top Two but guess where they were yesterday?

I am currently writing a major article for the Magazine and a short term trend has turned into a long term one. Increasing costs to the Cororate Bookmakers by way of paying for the use of race fields has tightened markets considerably but in spite of this punters still punt. The strategies in my 'Race Winning Strategies' book released earlier this year, are proving the best form of attack. To put it simply, a lot of the longshots have dried up.

Prue Hawkins' book: 'The Last Start Winner Guide' is proving valuable in eliminating horses that you would otherwise back with misplaced confidence.

The NSW Department of Liquor, Gaming and Racing have recently produced a report reviewing wagering and the sustainability of the Nsw Racing Industry. To read the full report click HERE.

Wednesday 3rd December: Powerplay has had a couple of less than satisfactory days as we head ito the Summer period. Betting turnover usually drops from here on but pur subscribers keep betting as usual and if anyghting they take advantage of the drier conditions that lead to more stable form. The downside is that dividends can be lower.

Today IASbet.com and Canbet.com.au are refunding your money if your horse runs second (beaten less than a neck) in the Eden Brae Cup at Hawkesbury. You do have to have an IASbet.com or Canbet.com.au account and you do have to register but I will take full advantage today as our Two Top Rated Selections look likely to fight it out. If we Dutch Bet both and they run 1st, 2nd we could collect twice.

Tuesday 2nd December: Yesterday wasn't a huge day with only a couple of Selections as we only had two race meets. One at Moe and the other at Port Macquarie. We ended up with one Selection placing a close second. Todays Racing looks more promising.

Horse Racing Australia Magazine Summer Edition was released in Newsagents nationally yesterday. Alternatively you can always by calling our office on (02) 4950 1747 or online by clicking here.

Prue Hawkins' Last Start Winners Guide arrived back from the printers late last week and was distributed to all our clients who pre ordered. The Last Start Winners Guideis a statistical guide designed to help you sort out the wheat from the chaff and was never intended to be anythng else but In the end Prue included a smart Last Start Winners System that nearly anyone can use just by accessing the Newspaper form guide. The Last Start Winners plan had a good start for the weekend too. Powerplay subscribers get a copy of Prue Hawkins new book the Last Start Winners Guide as part of their subscription but anyone can purchase the new book for just $99. Phone the office on (02) 4950 1747 or click here to order online.

Monday 1st December: The first day of Summer and it is hot already. I am doing a detox diet at the moment so I can lose weight and make room for Christmas. I hope it works.

Yesterday I found three bets that met the 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' rules and scored two wins and a place. The place all up was very short but my Trixie paid a good profit.

From time to time I get asked: "Can you use Money Factory to place all your day's bets at once?" and the answer is "yes you can." .Money Factory software allows you to create 12 separate 'systems' and each ca have 12 columns so if you wanted you could place up to 144 bets each day, enter results overnight and then place the next lot. I don't think anyone will do it but a number of Members are placing their bets this way and doing okay. It does mean using a bigger amount of capital but you also have the opportunity of closing all column banks if you have got soem outstanding results on the day.

Powerplay is in operation at Port Macquarie today and I have checked my figures for last month. The trebles lost a little over $1,000 but the Doubles made a profit. I din't score any big winning Quaddies but I am patient. You need to be.

Sunday 30th November: Ths is the last entry for Spring. Tomorrow everything that I have written will be consigned to another folder and all my experiences over the Spring of 2008 will be put aside. Anyone can access them and live my punting life with me again in the 30 or so minutes it will take to read them. It's like when you come up with a system. You observe the results over a long period of time and you know that the strategy will work. In the real world you experience a run of losers so you lose patience and look for something else and the cycle repeats over and over again and most of the time you will find that if you stuck firmly to that original strategy you would have gotten over that bad patch and once again be amongst the winners.

Tomorrow will be like starting over again. David Bendeich's Punting Club will be starting again, but not unitl the Autumn. The profits have been withdrawn for some Christmas spending money and the Club has been successful using the selections from the free UNITAB Ratings with Money Factory.

Saturday 29th November 2008: I chipped away all day today and made $1750 which was disappointing. In hindsight a win bet wherever I had an each way bet would have made a big difference. I scored every double at Yarra Glen except the last and found a good double at Toowoomba. Ascot was unkind and we had just two from ten for Grandslam at $6 and $1.70. Winform Singles had a good day and once again 'Best Australian Horse Racing Systems' found winners.

The Last Start Winner Plan in Prue's book found three winners from six selections and Winform Gold had a first and a second.

Friday November 28th: Someone sent David Bendeich an email with an attached spreadsheet with some queries. Due to one of those wonderful computer malfunctions the email is missing and so David is unable to reply. If that was you simply resend an email with the title "It was me" and David will reply.

Yesterday there was just one Premium Selection and it met the criteria. It won. The selection came up after Bendigo was upgraded. We reposted the Ratings and selections for subcribers as soon as we suspected this was likelyat around 11:00 a.m.

Powerplay Subscribers may notice a difference from today. We have finished our review and some venues will have changed as they have not been performing. Other venues which almost met our criteria have improved and are now included.

Thursday 27th November: The good news is that we are establishing a Poker and Casino section on the website. This will include strategies for online poker and casino play and we have established some great contacts where our members will get a good deal. What has held us back in the past is that because all of the operators are not here in Australia we have been unable to verify the genuine operators. After attending the CAP conference we have met with those which have representation here in Australia. Its not horseracing or sportsbetting but we know many of our readers do like to play. The new area of the website should be up and running before Christmas.

Yesterday our three Premium selections ran two wins and a second and all three were Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two selections. Our Daily Feature Race found the Winner, Quinella Exacta and Trifecta. There was no Powerplay action yesterday.

Wednesday 26th November: A top day for the Top Two yesterday. Powerplay scored at Wyong with a $30 winner the best but one race was a wipeout and that cost us the treble and the quaddie which would have been huge. The Doubles were successful with one $200+ payout.

The Last Start Winners Guide is selling as well as any publication we have put out. Purchasers should have their copy in about two weeks. I'll let you know here the day it is posted.

Prue and I are in Sydney today at an International Gaming Conference. So no, I wont be betting. That means you better get on as it will most likely be a good day for sure. There is no Powerplay Racing today, however we do have plenty of Premium selections to keep our subscribers happy.

Tuesday 25th November: Two Powerplay venues yesterday but only four doubles and missing the Trebles and Quaddies. Unitab issued a statement last week confirming their takeover of CentreRacing.com and stating that basically "If you can't beat 'em then join 'em". They highlighted that the Racing industry will receive less revenue fro the TABs as the TABs were rebating the corporates whenever they laid off through the TAB system. It's a win for punters though as we continue to get better of two or three TABs plus many punters also get rebates for losses. Canbet is one such site and CentreRacing.com another. It is expected that CentreRacing.com will not change but continue as is.

The Premium Selections that pass the rules in 'Key to Winning Consistently Edition Two' are more likely to win four in a row than lose four in a row. in fact they won nine in a row before suffering a similar poor run. Take advantage of the winning runs by stringing them togther in parlays. When you do this the inings are multiplied but when you lose, the loss is no different to just betting level stakes.

In my book: 'Race Winning Strategies', I recommended subscribers link together all the Winform Selections through Money Factory and this has again proved profitable. Yesterday I ran through all the 'Best Horse Racing Australia Systems' using each selection just once even if selected by more than one system. That was profitable all through the year also until November when a bad run occcurred. The very last bet in the bank found a winner that kept us in the game and then we struck with a $20+ winner that doubled our profit for the year. A $3200 Bank produced over $7,000 profit and there are still a few weeks to make even more.

The statistical books we print are designed to make you think as a punter and 'The Last Start Winner Guide' is no different except that for the first time we have included a 'system' that actually wins. We'd rather think of it as an observation of events that we can learn from but ti is just one of several observations you can make by reading this book.

Monday 24th November: Prue Hawkins' Last Start Winner Guide goes to the printers today. The Last Start Winners Guide is a statistical guide designed to help you sort out the wheat from the chaff and was never intended to be anything else but In the end Prue included a smart Last Start Winners System that nearly anyone can use just by accessing the Newspaper form guide. It has had 258 winners from 756 bets so far this year at a steady profi with $5270 for a $100 bet.. Winform Subscribers can make one small adjustment to make just over $8,000for a $100 level stakes bet.

Yesterday I was ready to collect over $7,500 when Prince Of Denmark, the $2.30 favourite won the last at Pinjarra. I also had two other horses which would have paid me the Quaddie pool as I was the only investor on those horses. Powerplay had a great day yesterday with quality doubles up to $170 but it failed to rope in that Quaddie when Prince Of Denmark could only run third. I wasn't happy. That's twice this week I have been ready to collect only to see our horse place.
