It’s South Australia’s signature Sprint Race. It’s a race where time really matters with speed being of the essence. In this race you can see the Ratings with the Top Five runners having an odds range of $7.00 'Velocitea' to $16.40 'Belltrois'. The next best rated horse was at $22.50

You’ll notice that the Barrier Penalty column (Bpen) is shaded out. This means that as far as we are concerned, barriers don’t count. If they did both 'Catapaulted' (barrier 12 ) and 'Belltrois' (barrier 14) would have been rated at longer odds.

See the V (Stab) N (NSWTAB) and Q (Unitab) columns and see how for the first five Rated runners only 'Velocitea' is strongly above the rated price and as a result a good value bet. 'Catapaulted' in brown indicates it is badly under the odds and a bad bet.

'Velocitea' wins as predicted and the Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First Four are in the Top Five Rated horses. The First Four paid as high as $6882 on Stab.
